Luke
FOUNDER
I founded Summit Tutors as after 9 years in the industry, it was clear there was a real gap in the market for young, enthusiastic tutors with interests that lie both inside and outside the academic world, my aim was to show that learning can be far more interesting and relevant than many students believe. I have a 1st in Economics, having obtained 12 A*’s and A’s at GCSE and A*AA at A-level. I have tutored hundreds of students and pride myself on the rapport I build with them, and remain in touch with many families after their tutoring journey is over.
Outside tutoring, my main passions in life are sport and fitness. I love football, whether it is playing or watching Southampton FC, going to the gym, as well as hacking it round the golf course. Away from sport, I love reading economics or fantasy books, watching movies and playing video games on the PS5 and Switch!

SCIENCE • TRIPLE SCIENCE (CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY AND PHYSICS)
I’m currently studying a masters in Chemistry at the University of Southampton, as science has always been a passion of mine, leading me to 3 A*’s at GCSE in Chemistry, Biology and Physics, although I also achieved A’s in Maths and Computer Science at A Level. My tutoring approach is based on first ensuring the fundamentals are in place and encouraging a strong base of communication between the tutor and tutee, as well as using real world examples to show how science is used in everyday life.
Away from academic studies, I love to read. High fantasy novels and superhero comics are particular favourites, although I enjoy exploring contrasting genres. I also practice martial arts and achieved my black belt in karate when I was just fourteen, and unwind playing video games with friends.

Maths • Entrance Exam Preparation
Having myself benefitted from excellent teaching in the past and finding a real passion for the subject, I love tutoring Maths. I studied at King Edward VI school in Southampton, gaining 3 9's and 9 A*s at GCSE. After staying there for VI form I was appointed Head of School and received 3 A*s at A level. I am currently studying medicine at Nottingham.
In my spare time I love engaging in sport, music and drama. I played rugby for Hampshire from U14's to U18's but also enjoy playing football with mates. I'm in a band with three friends and have just released our music on Spotify! I have also taught guitar.

English Language • English Literature • Entrance Exam Preparation
As a tutor, I love helping students to find more confidence in themselves and translate their ideas into writing. I recently graduated from Oxford University with a first class degree in English Language and Literature, and I’m now studying for an MA in Classical Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I obtained straight A*s/9s in my GCSEs and at A level I achieved A*A*A English Lit, Spanish and Music.
When I’m not acting or studying, I love playing sports, writing music and looking after my many plants! I played for the women’s rugby team at Oxford (and absolutely loved it) and I’m also a singer and harpist.

MATHS • PHYSICS
I have always had an inquisitive nature, so learning is naturally a passion of mine. I started teaching others while I was still at school, guiding other students with their learning so that they too could find the same passion I have for their subjects. I am currently studying a physics degree at Durham University, having previously gained 4 A*s at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and 3 9's and 7 8's at GCSE before that.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy playing music, and have obtained grade 8 in both the piano and the oboe, as well as attending the Pauline Quirke Academy for performing arts. I also played sports such as netball and rounders for my college teams.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE • ENGLISH LITERATURE • ENTRANCE EXAM PREPARATION • UCAS ADMISSIONS
A lifetime lover of language and literature, I followed my passion to Oxford where I graduated with a upper second class-honours in English, having achieved A*A*A at A-level. As a tutor, tailoring session time to the unique learning needs and goals of each tutee is the number one priority. Whether they're aiming for straight A*s or to get a strong pass, I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their individual targets, from 11+ to degree level. Having applied successfully to both Oxford and Cambridge, I am also excited to demystify university and school admissions and applications.
I have enjoyed music and drama extra-curriculars all my life, starring in many plays during my time at uni and performing in a number of bands. In my free time, when I'm not reading a book, I will be watching movies or deep in a binge-worthy television series.

Maths
Solving problems and constantly learning are both things I love doing and being able to share that knowledge with other people is very fulfilling for me. I have enjoyed Maths and anything Maths related from a very young age which led to a natural love for Computer Science and Physics also. I obtained grades 9-8 at GCSE and also A*, A*, A*, A in Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Physics respectively. I am currently studying Computing at Imperial College London.
Outside of academics, I enjoy knitting, sports and music. I play tennis and swim regularly. I also play the piano, guitar, violin and cello and really love composing my own music. And of course I enjoy coding and using the languages I know to build new applications.

MATHS • ENTRANCE EXAM PREPARATION
I've always found helping others with their learning an enriching experience ever since I started assisting my peers while still at school. I attended King Edward VI school in Southampton and achieved all level 9s and A*s at GCSE. I then achieved the highest grades possible at Peter Symonds College, A*A*A*A* in Maths, Economics, Computer Science and EPQ, as well as an A in Further Maths AS. I am currently studying Economics at Warwick University.
Alongside my studies, I play and coach hockey for my local team. When I get the chance I love to sail and have competed at a high level in both sailing and hockey in the past. As an escape, I've always enjoyed long walks and have climbed Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE • ENGLISH LITERATURE • ENTRANCE EXAM PREPARATION
My fondest memories of school always came from English lessons, an interest which I want to share with others by expanding their knowledge and confidence on the subject. At GCSE I achieved seven 9s, two 8s and a 7, and A*A*AA at A-level, my A*s being for English Literature and my EPQ. I hope to share my passion for English so that my tutees can experience the same excitement I felt when walking through the door of an English classroom.
Currently I am studying Law at Durham University. When I am not in the library, I enjoy playing the guitar and love watching films, particularly any horror ones!

MATHS • COMPUTER SCIENCE
Through having the courage to question things and the resolve to fully understand the solution I was able to improve my own grades, and I hope to pass this to my students. I love tutoring, not only furthering my tutees' knowledge, but thinking of exciting ways to explain new topics. I currently study computer science at Durham University, having previously taken the IB Diploma at Dartford Grammar School, achieving Higher in Maths (AA), Physics and Computer Science, and Standards for Spanish, Geography and English. I scored 41/45, and got all 9s, 8s and 7s at GCSE.
Outside my academics, I enjoy playing sports for my college, mainly rugby and cricket with some rounders on the side. I love listening to music, going on the Playstation and watching films and shows.

Maths
My aptitude for problem solving has enabled me to excel in many areas throughout my academics. I would like to give this confidence and knowledge I was able to use in my time at school to others in order for them to achieve their goals and beyond! I am an Economics undergraduate at Durham University, having achieved A*A*A in my A Levels in Mathematics, Economics and Physics respectively and 10 A*s in my GCSEs.
Aside from academics, I play netball and football at university, both of which are sports I have played competitively from a young age. Fun fact: I was made to play in a boy's football league just because my coach thought I was better than the rest! I also enjoy travelling, reading and coffee.

I was also the runner up in the Warwick Future Economics Essay Competition and was a member of the school senior leadership team.

SCIENCE • TRIPLE SCIENCE (CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY AND PHYSICS)
I am currently a medical student studying at Anglia Ruskin University. I found a love for science throughout my time at school, achieving seven 9s and two 8s for GCSE and then, A*A*A at A-Level. I started my teaching journey with educating young people in my local community about first aid and other life skills which led me to want to support young people to achieve their academic goals as a science tutor!
Outside of academics, I am an avid reader and you will always find me with a new book! If I'm not reading or providing first aid in my community, you will probably see me learning to crochet (I have a way to go!), doing pilates or watching Brooklyn 99 and Grey's Anatomy with friends.

BUSINESS STUDIES • ENTRANCE EXAM PREPARATION
I am currently in my third year at The University of Nottingham, studying Business Management, and am on track for a 1st. At A Level, I received A*AA in Economics, Business Studies, and Drama, notably achieving the highest score in Economics in my year. Being able to wholly resonate with the struggles of learning at GCSE and A Level, my aim is to run engaging sessions that result in embedded learning, with a relaxed and personal atmosphere, allowing my students to achieve and improve their grades.
Outside of academia, I’m an avid sportsman, captaining and coaching a Nottingham University Hockey team. Recreationally, I also really enjoy skiing and playing rugby with my mates, as well as taking up lacrosse at University this year. I also love the outdoors! Since childhood, I’ve always been happy hiking, cycling, and climbing—a passion influenced by my Mum’s role as a Cub Scout Leader.

I achieved 10 GCSEs, 7 of which were at grade 8, as well as AAAA* in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and EPQ. My passion for helping students achieve their goals took off when I started my school’s medical society. Since then, I have taken on a variety of tutoring roles.
Aside from studying, I have a variety of hobbies that keep me busy from tennis to art. Art is something that I have been keen on since a young age and enjoyed at GCSE. I have also taken up Spanish on Duolingo!

MATHS • ECONOMICS
I’d always look forward to my economics lessons at school as the teaching was engaging whilst having a balance of a friendly environment for discussion. I would love to share this experience with others, allowing students to feel more confident in their ability to solve economic and maths problems. I am currently studying Economics and Management at Bristol University having previous attended King Edward’s VI Southampton. I achieved three A*s, four 9s, two 8s, one 7 and A in GCSE’s, and at A level I gained A*AA in Economics Maths and Chemistry. I also received a chemistry and sports scholarship.
Aside from academics I really enjoy playing sports, having represented Hampshire and Dorset for Hockey and first team hockey and netball at school. Now I continue to enjoy playing competitively at uni. Spending time with my friends and going on adventures is what I love the most, and I was fortunate to travel SE Asia and Australia on my gap year!

I love to identify the difference in effective learning methods between students in order to tailor every tutee’s experience for the best possible results.
In my spare time I love to play football and rugby for my teams as well as watching a lot of it too! When I’m not involved in sport I love to play guitar and get outdoors to walk and surf, or just to chill out with my mates playing games and watching films.

CHEMISTRY
Having initially found Chemistry impossible, I have grown to really enjoy it, to the point that I am now studying it at the University of York. Previously, I was a student at King Edward VI School in Southampton, where I achieved 12 A*/9 Grades at GCSE and 3A*s at A-level. The unusual combination of Maths, Spanish and Chemistry allowed me to develop a genuine enthusiasm for each subject, something I would love to share with others.
Besides studying, I spend a lot of my free time watching rugby, be that on the sofa or in the stadium. When I’m back home, I’m quick to get on the PlayStation, but I also really enjoy playing the drums. And as much as I love being indoors, there is nothing better than kicking a ball around with my mates.

HISTORY
I am really passionate about History and hope to use my love for studying the past to create a fun and friendly environment when tutoring, in order to build students confidence and encourage thoughtful engagement with the subject. I am currently studying History at the University of Bristol and by studying English Literature, Government and Politics and History at A level, achieving A*s and As, I have built a strong set of skills and knowledge to support students to achieve success. Outside of my History studies I am working at improving my Japanese with the help of lessons through the University and YouTube.
In my spare time I love being with my friends, cooking together and exploring Bristol especially. Along with playing the clarinet in an Orchestra and travelling, I love to read. Some of my recent recommendations are HomeGoing, A Little Life and The Kite Runner.

SCIENCE • TRIPLE SCIENCE (CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY AND PHYSICS)
As a current medical student at the University of Nottingham, I am lucky enough to pursue my childhood passion for science. This passion has evolved and developed through my fantastic network of teachers and the support I was given which means I recognise the importance of simplifying and enjoying complex scientific concepts. Achieving A*AA at A-level and 6 Grade 9s/ 3 Grade 8s at GCSE has enabled me to reach where I am today. I believe my previous experience of tutoring and working within multiple youth organisations has enabled me to create a confident and relaxed environment for students to excel.
Outside of my studies, I am a keen cricketer, powerlifter and novice squash player. I also lead and represent my medical school’s volleyball club. In addition to that, I love to hike in my spare time, having recently returned from a breathtaking trip to Madeira, whilst currently looking forward to completing the 3 peaks challenge this year.

MATHS • PHYSICS • CHEMISTRY
I am currently studying Chemistry at the University of Oxford, following a strong academic foundation built at King Edward VI School where I achieved all 9’s in my GCSEs. My love for sciences led me to A-level grades of A*A*A*A* in Maths, Chemistry and Physics and an EPQ on hydrogen fuel. Having been an academic scholar throughout my time at KES, I gained the position of Senior Scholar in my final year, through which I spread my passion for learning by organising extension study sessions for GCSE students.
I have always loved music, playing the piano from a young age and more recently achieving my Grade 8. I picked up baking in lockdown and also really enjoy reading. I’m an adventurous person, having been on an expedition to Tanzania where I planted banana trees at a local school and attempted to climb Mount Meru (we very nearly made it to the top!).
Benji
Economics • Politics
I’m currently studying International, Social and Public Policy at the University of Bristol, achieving the working grade of a 1st. Economics and Politics are two brilliant subjects which, when correctly understood and harnessed, can bring fascinating insight for those who are fortunate enough to study them. I mastered this understanding and learnt the promise of the knowledge they hold at A-level achieving A*A*A (as well as Design Technology). They can be tricky subjects, but through my tutoring I aim to focus my passion into helping you master the tricks to your exams whilst deepening and entrenching your understanding, building strong confidence to achieve those As and A*s.
Beyond my studies I love the world of music, design, TV, and films, as well hanging out with friends. I also love exploring and traveling the world, whether it’s domestic or abroad. My sports knowledge is lacking, but I love when people are passionate enough to chat my ear off about it!
